[Do I Have a Case?]

Do I Need A Lawyer?

If you or a loved one have been injured or killed and have a serious personal injury, medical malpractice, workers' compensation or wrongful death claim, you need a lawyer.

The advice and counsel of an attorney in such a situation is absolutely critical to the success of your claim and is the only way to be certain that you are being protected and reasonably compensated. An attorney's job is to act as your advocate and representative in investigation, negotiation and pursuit of your claim. An attorney's duty is to see that your interests are protected. He is there to protect you, not the other insurance company or employer.

If you have been injured, you may be unable to appropriately handle a variety of issues that will initially confront you. Who is going to take care of the property damage? When can I get a rental vehicle? Who is responsible for the medical bills? I need medical care but I don't have insurance. Who will pay for my care? I am injured and cannot work. Who will pay my bills? I was injured at work and need medical care. What should I do? I feel that the work comp doctor is not treating me fairly. What should I do?

In each of these situations, an attorney can provide valuable assistance and advice.

Once your medical care has been completed and it is possible to attempt to settle your case, you most certainly should not do so without the advice of an attorney!

The insurance company is not there to be fair to you! It is a business and like any other business it is there to make money for its owners. As in any other business, this is done by taking in more than is paid out. The goal of the insurance claims adjuster is to keep the amount paid to a minimum. Please do not be lulled into thinking that you are in good hands with the insurance company!

While the claims adjuster may be pleasant, you should not be fooled. If the adjuster can get you to accept a low offer, or put you in a position such that an attorney would not want to handle your claim, he has done his job. He is not concerned about you.

Handling an injury claim is not a "Do It Yourself" project! Do you know the law that applies to your claim? Do you know the various types of damages that you are entitled to recover? Do you know how to arrive at an appropriate value of your claim? Without appropriate training and experience, a "Do It Yourself" claims settlement could unknowingly and unwittingly cost you thousands of dollars.

If I make a mistake with my home repair project, I can try again or hire a repairman to do the job over. Once your case is settled, you won't get a second chance!

Before you make such a mistake, come see us. Attorneys handling injury claims are happy to consult with you. We are more than willing to tell you the strengths, weaknesses and issues that your case presents. We will tell you of the costs involved and will make recommendations to you based on our education, experience and training.

Resolving a serious injury claim is a major life decision. Do not make it lightly or without appropriate information.
